Mike Neil - ... is a software engineer who worked for Apple Computer, Connectix, Pixo, then Connectix again, and now Microsoft (as a result of Microsoft's acquisition of Connectix). He has worked on several noteworthy projects, including Apple Computer's development tools for the Mac OS, an Apple Computer IIGS emulator named Gus, Connectix Virtual PC, and the Pixo OS (now the iPod OS). Microsoft Virtual PC - Virtual PC is an emulation suite for Apple Mac OS X, and a virtualization suite for Microsoft Windows operating systems. The software was originally written by Connectix, and was subsequently acquired by Microsoft. Mac gaming industry - Due to its limited market share the Apple Macintosh's game industry occupies a unique space within the larger spectrum of video gaming. Although there are a small number of game publishers who publish games simultaneously on the Mac and PC platforms via hybrid CD-ROMS (the most notable example being Blizzard Entertainment), the majority of the high profile titles which arrive on the Macintosh platform are ported by small "porting houses" and then published by one of several Macintosh publishers. MaxDrive - The MaxDrive is a hardware tool created by Datel (maker of the ActionReplay), which is used for importing and exporting PlayStation 2 data between a memory card and a PC/Mac. It comes with a USB memory stick, PC/Mac software, and a PS2 CD.

Then both got an idea. He was inspired by what was going on. At the time the only microcomputer CPUs generally available were the $179 Intel 8080, and the $170 Motorola 6800. Created by the same people who designed the 6800, but both were out of his price range. There he bumped into old friend Steve Jobs, who had an interest in the future commercial applications of these tiny hobby machines. This was not like the displays of later machines however, and displayed text at a terribly slow 60cps.
